Proposal Manager; ZOLL Data Systems, Inc., Broomfield, CO; (7/12 – Current) – Responsible for supporting the
sales force through the development of proposals and new business contracts. Manage all aspects of ZOLL responses
to RFPs and other large pursuits as needed. Work with the sales management to determine if ZOLL has an
opportunity to compete for the award, create a master schedule that drives response completion in accordance with
the RFP requirements. Organize the RFP response team by identifying the roles and responsibilities for each team
member and achieve commitment on specific content required. Track the progress and completion of each key
element of the response against the master schedule and enforce/adjust accordingly. Compile content/input from all
team members into final response that meets the RFP requirements. Lead various checkpoint/reviews throughout
the process to ensure accuracy and completeness of the response. Create the final document and oversee the
production using third-party printer vendors as appropriate. Analyze and create comparisons with competitor
proposals.
Marketing Proposal Manager; URS Corporation, Denver, CO; (5/11 – 7/12) – Managed and coordinated multiple
and diverse proposal teams (environmental, construction, transportation, aviation, and water) under tight deadlines.
Planned, scheduled, and coordinated process following standard procedures, including planning, review, and
production of brochures, statements of qualifications, proposals, and other marketing/business development
materials. Facilitated/ensured development of proposal strategy and win themes. Gathered and researched
information to include in proposals, including resumes and project summaries. Provided document review,
organization, and edits to improve clarity. Provided final QC check, including proofreading for grammar and RFP
compliance and conformance to established strategies and plans. Conducted strategic planning that included
evaluating marketing intelligence, identifying customer concerns and key issues, and developing win strategies.
Ensured complex technical solutions, strategies, and themes were easily understandable, readable, and compelling.
Marketing subject matter expert for departments to win consulting service engagements from clients primarily in

Principal Proposal/Marketing Manager; MWH Constructors, Inc., Broomfield, CO; (3/06 – 2/11) – Since 2008, I led a
marketing group for the national strategic marketing pursuits for the MWH Constructors team. Possessed a broad
knowledge of marketing principles and procedures; demonstrated excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Driven
by a strong will to succeed and delivered quality products. Managed a small team for a variety of proposal submittals and
provided proposal guidance, coordination, management and writing support, as well as researched, compiled, proofed, and
edited text and graphics; maintained selected marketing databases; developed presentations and other marketing
collateral; and performed other supporting tasks as needed, including competitive analysis, leading kickoffs and establishing
messaging/branding. The nature of submittals varied from SOQs and qualifications-based documents, to multiple volume
proposals containing qualifications, technical approaches and cost/schedule information. I worked on over 100 proposal
submittals, including the successful $587M City of Austin CMAR WTP and Tunnel, $3.5B Panama Canal Third Set of Locks,
and $800M Lake Powell Pipeline projects. My pursuits ranged in value from $500K to over $15B, as well as spanned varied
engineering services: water, wastewater, tunnels, water conveyance, dams, reservoirs, environmental hydroelectric, and
program management for a host of submittal-types including municipal, state, federal (SF 330, 255 and 254) and
international (World Bank). In this role, I visited numerous cities throughout the US, France, UAE, and Panama. Prior to
working within MWH Constructors, 2006-2007, I was the national/international NRII lead and earlier, the eastern US lead for
proposal efforts within the Creative Services group within engineering at MWH.

Proposal Manager; Policy Studies Inc., Denver, CO; (6/04 – 2/06) – Managed proposal development efforts,
including analyzing RFP requirements and developing strategies and outlines for responding to RFPs. Developed,
implemented, and controlled proposal schedules, took action as appropriate to ensure deliverable milestones were
met; wrote key sections of proposals, as applicable; directed the efforts of a team of proposal writers and support
specialists; performed content editing and identified proposal weaknesses; worked with company principals and
subject matter experts to develop and refine proposal content; distributed draft copies and elicited feedback;
oversaw production process from start to finish within tight timeframes; and identified and implemented process
improvements for subsequent proposal development, including updating and contributing to document databases,
performing technical analyses of competitor proposals, and researching and developing content to support future
proposal efforts. Managed and contributed to large projects from beginning to end through multiple child support

Marketing/Proposal Manager; BI Incorporated, Boulder, CO; (10/03 – 6/04) - Researched, wrote, and managed the
production of proposal responses to various government agencies. Achieved and maintained a bid award success
ratio of 85%. Worked closely with key staff, SMEs, and used support resources for the timely delivery of technical
government proposals.
Contract Writer; NETdelivery, Boulder, CO; (8/03 – 10/03) – Responsible for the development and content of a
corporate case study, product solution, and storyboard of a Flash product demo sales promotional piece.
Contract Writer; Information Management Resource, Inc., Englewood, CO; (4/03 – 7/03) – Created and developed
a single sourcing solution for the company’s product user documentation, using FrameMaker 7.0. Assisted the
documentation group with writing additional content development/revision for new/ongoing projects.
Contract Sr. Writer; TIA/GrafTech International, Denver, CO/Fribourg, Switzerland; (10/02 – 4/03) – Sr. Technical
Writer for an independent consulting company with a client in Fribourg, Switzerland. Created Foundation, Address
Book, and Procurement user guides, training guides and materials, and facilitated onsite classes for an international
client migrating to a J.D. Edwards OneWorld implementation.
Contract Marketing Writer; ManagedStorage International, Boulder, CO; (4/02 – 10/02) - Marketing Writer for a
data protection storage company. Created and maintained marketing collateral, corporate newsletter and success
stories, website, and user and system documentation.
Contract Technical Writer; Compuware, Englewood, CO; (8/99 – 4/02) – Managed and wrote documentation for
various information system groups. Created user and system documentation, online help, web-based training, operational
procedures, and IT/business solution proposals. Developed and implemented training courses and materials. Companies
contracted with included: J.D. Edwards, Compaq, State of Colorado, CommTech International, Fairway Systems, Knowledge
Workers, and First Data Corporation.
Sr. Technical Writer; Citibank, Englewood, CO; (8/97 – 8/99) - Lead Technical Writer for the Information Systems
Technology group. Managed, developed, and maintained project publications, proposals and systems administrative
manuals for software applications and other documentation necessary for ongoing global project. Audited
documentation presented by vendors and other projects for corporate branding compliance. Implemented project
and process improvements within CMM guidelines. Developed and implemented a documentation control process
within non-networked and intranet environments. Created and published a departmental new staff book and
training materials. Edited and proofread team documentation. Initiated and implemented several online project and
department documentation repositories.
Lead Desktop Publisher; International Language Engineering (ILE), Boulder, CO; (3/96 - 8/97) - Lead Desktop
Publisher for the localization of Asian and Western European language projects. Managed a team of 12 desktop
publication staff and translation employees and monitored the adherence to deadlines, the scheduled budget, and
the application of ISO 9001 guidelines. Coordinated and conducted staff training of the desktop publishing tools and
project policies. Formatted, edited, and proofread documentation. Served as resident Interleaf and PDF

Contract Technical Writer; Maxtor Corporation, Longmont, CO; (1/96 - 3/96) – Responsible for technical
documentation on a three-month manufacturing procedure project. Developed, researched, and produced
manufacturing test equipment procedures, sequence of events, operational method sheets and
calibration/maintenance procedures documentation through video and within clean room environments.
Staff Technical Writer; Storage Technology Corporation, Boulder, CO; (9/93 - 2/96) - Developed and researched
physical planning, configuration, performance and system assurance customer documentation for a DASD project.
Developed and maintained OEM/Indirect marketing product descriptions/specifications encompassing hardware,
software and bundled solutions. Developed and maintained the technical content of product marketing brochures
and data sheets. Participated in the development and distribution of application notes, service bulletins, product
improvement bulletins and technical “white papers.” Participated in the development and maintenance of

HR Communications Specialist; Storage Technology Corporation, Louisville CO; (4/89 – 9/93) - Managed,
developed, and wrote all employee benefit communications within the corporation, circulation of approximately

materials and summary plan descriptions. Facilitated new hire orientations. Managed flexible spending account
benefit program. Contributing writer for the corporate communications weekly and monthly publications. Additional
responsibilities included proofreading bluelines for print material, writing executive personnel biographies, and

Camera Operator; Cablevision, Greeley, CO; (1/88 - 6/88) - Performed the functions of camera operator for mobile and
stationary television cameras. Participated in production set-up for cable television broadcasting for field and studio.
